GHES had busy and fun Friday during our morning assembly filled with celebrations and meaningful learning moments. Our PTO recognized the top 4th grade winners for their Postcards across America Challenge. We proudly recognized our Purposefull People Empathy Award winners, honoring students who consistently demonstrate the ability to understand and connect with the feelings of others. Their kindness and compassion help make our school a welcoming place for everyone.

We also celebrated Deputy Garber in recognition of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, thanking him for his dedication, service, and the positive relationships he builds with our students and staff.

The assembly wrapped up with an exciting box stacking challenge that had everyone cheering (and holding their breath!). This fun activity helped us talk about perseverance—pushing through challenges, trying again when things don’t go as planned, and sticking with it even when it gets tough.

Families,

As has long been requested, GHMS will officially offer individual season long passes for indoor sports. These will be offered on a sport by sport basis for the 2025-2026 school year as we determine the viability of offering these. Moving forward, GHSD K-8 students will be able to enter athletic events for free, along with seniors 62+ and children 0-5. Passes are non-transferrable, meaning the pass owner is the only person who may use the pass. If there are four adult (or HS) members of your family, four passes will be needed, etc.

Beginning Monday, January 12th, passes can be purchased for the volleyball season in the middle school office via cash or check (made out to GHMS) for $35 per pass. If you're interested in purchasing a pass, please fill out the attached document and send cash or a check made out to GHMS. This can be sent with your child or you are welcome to stop in the office to fill out a form and pay there. You may also call the MS office over the phone and pay via credit card! Passes will be ready at the gate for the first game on 1/14.

*Please note, passes due not count for our in-season tournament, quadrangular, or IESA sectional play!

If you have any questions, reach out to the MS office or contact Kyle Rich at krich@ghills69.com.

Thank you,

Kyle Rich

Get ready to pull, collect, and WIN! Poptabs are back, and our school is teaming up with the community to support the Ronald McDonald House, which helps provide care and comfort for families in need. 💛

Here’s the exciting challenge:
🔴 Community Goal: 1,000,000 poptabs
🟡 Germantown Hills School District Goal: 300,000 poptabs

But wait… there’s more! 👀 We’re going head-to-head with our cross-town rivals—Metamora Grade School, Metamora Township High School, and St. Mary’s. The school that collects the most poptabs will earn bragging rights AND a trophy! 🏆

📅 Collection runs from January 6th through May, so start saving now! Ask friends, family members, neighbors, and coworkers to save their poptabs and help us make a difference. Every poptab counts and brings us closer to supporting families through the Ronald McDonald House.

✨ Extra Fun Along the Way!
To keep the excitement going, we’ll have fun checkpoints throughout the collection period. When we hit certain goals, the ENTIRE school will earn rewards like lemonade, popcorn, and other fun treats! 🍿🥤

📍 Where to donate:

Elementary School Office

Middle School Science Classrooms

Let’s show our community spirit, support a great cause, and bring home that trophy! Thank you for helping us make a big impact—one poptab at a time. 💥

Let the collecting begin! 🙌

Happy Holidays,
