On Friday, 8th grade students participated in Egg Drop experiments in Dr. Greer's class!

The Illinois Libraries Present is hosting a special Youth Zoom event! They have Raina Telgemeier scheduled as a speaker on Tuesday, December 10 from 7:00-8:00pm.
Raina is the author and illustrator of the graphic novels Smile, Drama, Sisters, Ghosts, and Guts, all #1 New York Times bestsellers. She also adapted and illustrated four graphic novel versions of Ann M. Martin’s Baby-Sitters Club series, and has contributed short stories to many anthologies.


Thanks to all that donated school supplies and other fun toys for the children at St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Some members of the student council dropped off the donated items and got to tour the facility!

Congratulations to the 7th grade girls basketball team on their Regional Championship win last night! We are so proud of you. I would also like to recognize Brooklyn Sauder, who won the IESA Sportsmanship pin. Thank you to the cheerleading team and all of the fans who came out to support our Warriors!





Thank you to the Metamora High School Madrigal singers for coming to visit us today! 8th grade chorus students were able to attend the performance.

We all got to witness his kind words in our assembly, but here is what another student wrote about him: "When his grade won the trimester dude.be.nice prize, he gave a really sweet speech about how everyone did well and won his heart." The Chess Team took home lots of hardware from their tournament over the weekend! Medal winners at Reservoir Gifted were Mason Godinez, Nick Modlin, Andrew Billingsley, James Cardin, and Charles Pilat. Colt Tessier was named Top Unrated Player in K-5. Owen Hall and Evan Liu earned 2nd place trophies while Andrew Wilson earned a 4th place trophy. We earned a 2nd place trophy overall. Great job, Warriors!






U.S. News & World Report has published its school rankings for the year. Germantown Hills Elementary School is ranked #64 out of 1,953 elementary schools in Illinois. Germantown Hills Middle School is ranked #50 out of 1,198 middle schools. I'm so proud of our students, our staff, our parents, and our community. It's a great day to be a Warrior!

Shout out to Mr. Loring and the band for putting on a great show at 8th grade night for our girls basketball team this evening! Way to bring the pep, Warriors!







Congrats to our Star Lunch Room Students. Everyday for 1/2nd grade lunch, students are recognized based on their behavior. The names of all students were then put into a drawing. This month, our lunch room monitors rolled out the red carpet table service. Students were able to celebrate with some ice cream and confetti!!





Congratulations to Mr. Mair, who won the Germantown Hills Chamber of Commerce Servant Leadership Award this year. Thank you for everything you have done for our school district, Mr. Mair!

We also had our Trimester 1 dude.be.nice assembly today. Congratulations to our individual prize winners, as well as our overall grade level winners, the 5th grade! The 5th grade got to spend the afternoon in a movie party with drinks and treats.




We were able to honor our Veterans with an assembly this morning. Thank you to everyone who attended and performed, thank you to all of our Veterans for their service, and thank you to Mr. Bruce Thiemann, who was our guest speaker!







Congratulations to Macie Crow, Mackenzie Webb, Lilianna Poole, and Olivia Stoller, who represented Germantown at the ILMEA District #3 Concert Festival on Saturday, November 9th. We also recognize Kensey Monckton, who made the honor group, but was sick for the festival.
