Germantown Hills Community:

Due to the anticipated incoming winter weather expected to take place across the state of Illinois tomorrow, IESA has made the decision to reschedule the state tournament to Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week. Germantown Hills will play at 4:30 against Staunton! Please show out for these girls!!!

The Gameday breakfast that was previously scheduled for tomorrow will no longer take place. It is my intention to come up with a plan for either a pre or post game offering for our students on Monday, but will communicate this information to you when I have that sorted out. The $8 was to be used to purchase your student's ticket and can still be used as such. If your child no longer wishes to attend the game on Monday, please let me know and we will refund you your money! Unless you tell me otherwise, your student's ticket will be purchased by GHMS, and we will have it ready for them on Monday evening. Some sort of food option will still be offered to those student's on Monday evening, but I will communicate out what that is no later than tomorrow afternoon!

Please see the following information from IESA related to these changes:
With the projected weather forecast in Central Illinois calling for 5-8 inches of snow, we are canceling all 8th grade girls state tournament for Saturday, December 13. Below is the new schedule for each tournament.
Here is the link to the IESA website with the updated schedule.

GHMS is proud to host the IESA Girls 8-3A State Tournament on Saturday, December 13. Our GHMS team will play at 10:00 AM. Because hosting prevents us from running a fan bus, the GHMS Booster Club is providing a special Game-Day Breakfast for 5th-8th grade GHMS students who plan to attend the game. If GHMS wins game 1, they would play again at 5 PM. This ticket is an all-day pass and good for both games on Saturday. Students should go home between games!

Event Details
Breakfast Provided: Donuts & breakfast pizza

Time: 9:15–9:40 AM

Location: GHMS West Gym (Enter at the middle school entrance)

Cost: $8 (covers the digital game ticket; GHMS will purchase tickets on behalf of students)

Students must purchase their ticket through GHMS using this form to attend the breakfast.

Students who do not purchase their ticket ahead of time may still attend the game but cannot attend the breakfast.

All forms and payment must be returned to the GHMS Middle School Office by the end of the school day on Friday

Congratulations to our fearless leader in the elementary world, Mrs. Vande Schraaf, on receiving a Warrior Coin! Mrs. Vande Schraaf has changed the climate of our school by her positive attitude and open-door policy with all her staff. She makes you feel that your input is vital to the school and encourages people to approach her with any question or concern. Her kind demeanor and contagious laughter make people want to come to work. She is always one of the first people to assist and is extremely hardworking. She exemplifies leadership with her empathy, resilience, adaptability, and communication skills. We are very fortunate to have her as our principal in the elementary school.
