Here is the GHES newsletter for the month of September. There are tons of exciting things happening around our building and things coming up!






Girls basketball kicks off their season on Tuesday with a home game against Brimfield starting at 5 PM! Student Council will be hosting theme nights for each home game again this season. Tuesday night will be Neon Night! Pack the JDS!!!

The 5th graders used the Engineering Design Process to build boats for capacity last week. They will have the opportunity to redesign and test a second boat this week!

Today in Science class, our 8th graders studied the behavior of waves!

Ms. Ganson's 7th grade science students finished the first day of their pond water lab in the school garden as they discovered how to capture microscopic organisms and macroinvertebrates, how to identify the organisms using a microscope, and how these organisms are used to determine the water quality of the pond.







The Warrior Buddies had some kind messages as they worked together to chalk the blacktop!

Middle school students met their elementary buddies today!









Dr. Adam Brumbaugh is introducing Warrior Coins to the Germantown Hills School District. A Warrior Coin is awarded to deserving individuals, including students, staff and community members, who demonstrate what it means to be a Warrior of the highest order in the classroom, on the court, or in the community. Nomination forms for the award are available at the Germantown Hill School District website.
Our first middle school winner is Karter Brown! Here is what his teachers said about him: Karter is a true leader of this school. He is respectful, responsible, caring, and hard-working. He always puts in his full effort in the classroom, on the field (cross country), and in student council. He displays kindness towards everyone in and out of the building and is an overall GOOD HUMAN! Great job, Karter!

During our opening assembly today, we celebrated our fantastic Fall MAP scores and gave certificates to our students who had the highest percentages and to those who showed the greatest growth. I know taking these tests is not always fun, but these students knocked it out of the park!
