The middle school and elementary school combined today for some fun Buddy Day activities! They participated in a holiday movie, played bingo, and created Christmas decorations. Such a great day!
Miss Ingold's class took to the hallways today to measure the distance of the planets from the sun!
Our Daily Life class headed to the Levee District yesterday to buy Christmas presents for students in need in our community. They also stopped at Avanti's for a nice lunch and Starbucks for a hot chocolate!

Congratulations to our 8th Grade Girls Basketball team on their Sectional Championship win last night. Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer us on. Santa stopped by for an Elfie Selfie! Make sure to have your camera ready for the 2nd grade play "Elflandia" Thursday at 7pm at MTHS Auditorium. These elves might take a selfie with you too! These students have worked so hard and were so great at rehearsal today!

The middle school will be honoring a new student every week for "dude.we.see.you." This is an award where students nominate other students for the kind things they do. Congratulations to this week's winner, Ben Thelen! He stood up for another student that was being teased, which is not always easy to do. Awesome job, Ben!
Our Student Council handed out cookies to all middle school students and staff today for National Christmas Cookie day. Not a bad way to start a Monday!
Thank you to Mrs. Schonert for presenting to our 7th grade Career Explorations class today. She talked to our students about potential careers in engineering. She gave a very interesting presentation and our students asked some fabulous questions!
Today, Mrs. Perez and Mr. Rich handed out snack cakes for students with perfect attendance for the month of November. We had over 160 students earn this reward!

The 8th Grade Warrior Girls Basketball Team is competing in the 3-A Sectional Championship on Wednesday December 6th at 6:30, here at GHMS. The Warriors will be playing for the opportunity to move on to the IESA State FInals which start Saturday December 9th. IESA State will also be hosted by GHMS and the Warrior Girls Basketball Program. We want to pack the gym, creating a true home court advantage on Wednesday. Please make plans to come out and cheer on these amazing young ladies!
Our Lost and Found is full of items that we will be donating to charity after Christmas. Please feel free to come and take a look if you are missing something! All middle school items are in the foyer outside of the office.

The U.S. News & World Report just came out with their annual school rankings. Germantown Hills Middle School was #34 out of over 2500 middle schools in Illinois. This is definitely something our community can be proud of. Great job to our students, our staff, and the Germantown community for their support!

The 7th graders won our Trimester 1 House Points contest. Today they had their movie and pizza party. They kicked off the Holidays with the movie Elf!
