We will once again be offering a fan bus to Thursday evening's STATE CHAMPIONSHIP game in Auburn! It will be a late night as the girls play at 7:30. The bus will depart at 5:30 and return by 10:30 PM. The cost is $10. Permission slips (linked below as well) were available today and must be returned by the end of the school day on Wednesday! 6th grade Science presented their Alien Planet Projects today! Each group was assigned a planet and they had to create an alien that would be able to survive on that planet.




Shoutout to the chess team and Doc McAllister on hosting a fantastic chess tournament on Saturday here at GHMS!

Congratulations to the 7th grade girls basketball team on making it to state! We are offering a fan bus for students in grades 5-8. As the girls play at 10 AM, we would need to leave here by 8 AM. We will then return by roughly 1 PM. We need at least 25 students in order to take the bus! The cost will be $10, which will cover ticket cost and bus cost. Permission slip and money must be turned into the middle school office by tomorrow morning, Friday, by 9 AM in order to attend. Forms are available in the MS office!

Best Buddies have been working with our Easter Seals and Skillbuilders classes all year. Here are some pictures from earlier in the year when our Best Buddies participated in some activities that helped them to better understand some of the challenges our students with disabilities face on a day-to-day basis.

The Illinois Libraries Present is hosting a special Youth Zoom event! They have Raina Telgemeier scheduled as a speaker on Tuesday, December 10 from 7:00-8:00pm.
Raina is the author and illustrator of the graphic novels Smile, Drama, Sisters, Ghosts, and Guts, all #1 New York Times bestsellers. She also adapted and illustrated four graphic novel versions of Ann M. Martin’s Baby-Sitters Club series, and has contributed short stories to many anthologies.

Thanks to all that donated school supplies and other fun toys for the children at St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Some members of the student council dropped off the donated items and got to tour the facility!
