The Kindergartners encouraged Mrs. VandeSchraaf and Mrs. Hensley to be brave and touch the octopus. The octopus was here to celebrate the letter O and the ocean unit. Thanks to Mr. Dixon for providing this hands-on experience.

Two former GHMS and MTHS students presented in Senora Ganson's 8th grade Spanish class today. Lydia Alonso and Kinsey Ganson talked about the Honors Spanish program at MTHS and the school-sponsored trip to Spain that was in March 2023.




A special thank you to the community for supporting both the GHMS and GHES as they collected food for the Midwest Food Bank! GHES collected over 2500 cans and GHMS collected over 600 cereal boxes! Great work!!

Congratulations to the Scholastic Bowl team who was runner up at the Tazwood Conference this weekend. The team won 3 out their 4 matches and fought hard in the championship round. We are very proud of them!


Middle school students donated 536 cereal boxes to the Midwest Food Bank last week. Thank you to the Student Council for heading this fundraiser and creating our cereal domino through the hallways. It was so fun to watch! Here is the video:

The Chess Team had their Walk of Champions this afternoon! Congratulations to Ryan Crebo, Owen Hall, and Jaxon Godinez, who all won bronze medals at the State Chess Competition.





We had 163 students with perfect attendance for the month of February. They got Capri Suns at lunch today. Awesome job!



The 7th graders have been giving how-to speeches in their Language Arts class this week!









7th graders got the chance to learn about the Revolutionary War in a unique way this week. The 7th grade Social Studies teachers were able to get a traveling trunk of uniforms and other items brought into class. The students had a blast traveling through stations and time.

Today was a beautiful day for the Purple Team (8th and 1st grade) to celebrate their 2nd trimester win for the most WOW tickets and Dude. Be. Nice tickets. The Buddies were able to enjoy some ice cream, chase bubbles, decorate with chalk, play on the playground, and have a dance party!
