GRANDPARENTS DAYS ARE NEXT WEEK, and we are extremely excited to welcome our grandparents back for the first time since 2019!!
Understandably, we are expecting an exceptionally large turnout for all four Grandparents Days. In order to help make these days as enjoyable as possible, please take a moment to look over this information and communicate it to your child's grandparents.
Each Grandparents Day will be from 9:00 - 10:30 AM. We ask grandparents, who do not have mobility issues, to please park at Great Oaks Community Church just east of campus. A shuttle bus will be available beginning at 8:00 AM and will pick up passengers in the lane in front of the awning. If the bus is not there, grandparents may wait under the awning until it returns. The shuttle bus will drop passengers off at Door #1 on the west side of the school building. There will be students available to direct grandparents to the correct location to begin the day.
For grandparents who will park on campus, please have them park in the north and east lots. Grandparents, who will be parking on campus, may enter at door #7 (Elementary Office) or Door #9 (District Office). Again, there will be staff or students available to direct grandparents to the correct location.
Please make sure your child's grandparents know what grade your child is in!
Here are the dates and schedules:
April 24th- 1st and 2nd Grade grandparents and students will begin at 9:00 AM in the JDS Gym for a brief welcome. Following the welcome, your child and his/her grandparents will follow this schedule. (There is no need to print the schedule as we will have plenty of people directing our grandparents and students in the right direction!)
April 25th- 3rd and 4th Grade grandparents and students will begin at 9:00 AM in the JDS Gym for a brief welcome. Following the welcome, your child and his/her grandparents will follow this schedule. April 26th- 5th Grade grandparents and students will begin in the Commons area for refreshments and time to visit. 6th Grade grandparents and students will begin in the Multi-purpose Room and then visit classrooms, the art show and the book fair. At 9:30, 5th and 6th grade will swap. At 10:00 AM, All 5th and 6th grade grandparents and students will go to the JDS gym for a chorale and band concert.
April 27th- 7th Grade grandparents and students will begin in the Commons area for refreshments and time to visit. 8th Grade grandparents and students will begin in the Multi-purpose Room and then visit classrooms, the art show and the book fair. At 10:30 AM, we will begin running the shuttle bus from door #1 back to Great Oaks Community Church.
